Annamaria R.Varkonyi-Koczy

Annamária R. Várkonyi-Kóczy was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1957. She received the M.Sc. E.E., M.Sc.M.E.-T., and Ph.D. degrees from the Technical University of Budapest and the Doctor of Academy title from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1981, 1983, 1996, and 2010, respectively.
She was a Researcher of the Research Institute for Telecommunication, Hungary, for six years, followed by four years with the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. From 1991 till 2009 she has been with the Department of Measurement and Information Systems, Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Since 2009 she is full professor, from 2011 till 2016 she has been also the Head of Institute at the Institute of Mechatronics and Vehicle Engineering, between 2019 and 2020 Vice Rector for Science and Research at Óbuda University. In 2013, she also joined the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, J. Selye University, Slovakia. Since 2023 she is Vice President of the Hungarian Doctoral Council. Her research interests include digital image and signal processing, modeling, diagnostics, uncertainty handling, and intelligent computing.
Dr. Várkonyi-Kóczy is Fellow and Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE, elected member of the Hungarian Academy of Engineers, former Vice President of the Hungarian Fuzzy Association, member of the John von Neumann Computer and the Measurement and Automation Societies.
